Cindy Daly
Managing Partner
Graphic Artist
Cindy Daly joined WhizCom Marketing (formerly Whisenhunt Communications) in 1997 as a graphic artist. In her years at WC, she has designed countless projects including logos, newsletters, brochures, annual reports, advertisements, web pages and email newsletters. Her long list of clients includes Harrison Industries, the city of Oxnard, Ventura Water, the Ventura Port District, Primary Medical, the County Ventura St. Patrick’s Day Parade, Casitas Water District, the Humane Society of Ventura County, VCEDA, Community Memorial Hospital and the Ventura County Office of Education. Cindy also specializes in web marketing, social media and ad placement as well as assisting clients in event planning, including creating programs and invitations and managing events onsite. A Ventura resident since 1987, Cindy is active in the community, serving on the board and several committees for the Assistance League of Ventura County. Cindy is a graduate of UCLA, with a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics/applied science. She’s also earned certifications from UC Santa Barbara in graphic design, graphic arts, visual communication and web design as well as interior design certification from Santa Barbara City College.

Brendan Daly
Managing Partner
Photographer/Videographer
Brendan Daly is a gifted photographer, videographer and digital marketer who provides all forms of content for WhizCom Marketing and its clients. For over eight years, Brendan has worked to provide creative content for businesses and institutions including the Ventura Harbor, Community Memorial Hospital and E.J. Harrison & Sons. Brendan specializes in high-resolution product imagery, editorial and event photography, cinematic wedding videography and corporate videos as well as social media management, consulting and optimization. Born, raised and living in Ventura, Brendan enjoys spending his free time hiking, backpacking and traveling in pursuit of his favorite subjects: landscape and time-lapse photography. A graduate of California State University Long Beach, Brendan holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing.

Kyle Knapp
Managing Partner
Web Developer/Digital Strategist
Kyle Knapp has a decade of experience in web development, social media, SEO and business management. With an entrepreneurial background primarily in the retail sector, Kyle provides technical and marketing expertise in developing and modernizing websites for both brick-and-mortar businesses and ecommerce. Prior to joining WC, Kyle helped develop a successful social media platform for a retail business that saw sales soar more than 30% in its first quarter of implementation, leading his work to be featured in a Facebook case study (https://www.facebook.com/business/success/hats-unlimited). As a business owner, Kyle met the demands of day-to-day operations while working to market new products, leading to multiple Ventura County and state awards and local broadcast media features. Kyle also has talents in graphic design, photography, videography and cinematography.

Bruce McLean
Writer/Editor
Bruce McLean has more than 30 years experience as a writer, editor and digital and social media leader. After working as a reporter for the Ventura County Star, he became an early member of the Star’s award-winning digital content team in 2001. Over the next 8 years, as the importance of digital media grew, his responsibilities increased. In 2009 he was named the Star’s Director of Digital Media and oversaw all editorial and technical aspects of the site’s operation. In 2012 he was promoted to Senior Director of Local Digital Operations for E.W. Scripps, overseeing the company’s 13 newspaper websites and staffs. After E.W. Scripps sold their newspapers, he became head of digital for Nexstar Media Group until 2019. Most recently, he was a Digital Media Specialist focused on COVID-19 issues for the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department. Bruce studied at Ventura College and graduated from California State University, Northridge with a degree in Journalism.

Amy Bentley
Writer/Editor
Amy Bentley has more than 35 years of experience as a professional journalist and content creator. Since joining WhizCom Marketing (formerly Whisenhunt Communications) in 2002, Amy has worked with a wide range of clients, including Community Memorial Healthcare, Ventura Water, the Ventura Port District, A to Z Law, Harrison Industries, the Channel Islands Group, the Temecula Valley Rose Society, the Ventura County Office of Education and the Sarasota, Florida Shell Club. Amy writes and edits copy, edits printed and digital newsletters, and prepares and distributes press releases. During her professional career, Amy has worked as a writer or editor for several Southern California newspapers, magazines and websites. She has written about a wide range of topics, including healthcare, water, recycling, business and travel. Amy also has created written and photographic content for websites in the travel and leisure industry. Amy holds a bachelor’s degree in communication studies from UC Santa Barbara and a Master of Science in Journalism from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.

Ken Maryanksi
Writer/Editor
Ken Maryanski has more than 35 years of journalism experience and joined the Whisenhunt team in 2022. He worked as a news reporter and city editor for 15 years in Contra Costa County before moving to Ventura in 1999. Ken then spent 20 years at the Ventura County Star in a variety of editing roles, including directing coverage of public safety, education, breaking news and local government, and, most recently, writing editorials as its opinion page editor. After leaving journalism, Ken worked as a Partnership Specialist for the U.S. Census Bureau, collaborating with local agencies to conduct community outreach and increase participation in the 2020 Census. Ken studied English and journalism at San Francisco State University and Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.

Julie Price
Writer/Editor
Julie Price is a veteran of more than 30 years in newspaper journalism, with additional experience in corporate communications. Since joining the Whisenhunt team in 2003, Julie has worked with clients including Harrison Industries, the Humane Society of Ventura County, the Ventura Port District, Ventura Water, the Ventura County Office of Education, and Community Memorial Hospital, providing writing and editing for newsletters, press releases, brochures, ad copy and editorials, among other materials. A Ventura resident since 1994, Julie spent the bulk of her career with the Los Angeles Daily News and the Ventura County Star, as a news reporter, copy editor, special sections editor, features columnist, features editor and senior editor. After leaving journalism, she spent seven years in corporate communications, managing PR for CKE Restaurants, Inc., and internal engagement for The Cheesecake Factory. Julie studied journalism at Los Angeles Valley College.
